“Our guide Alper was amazing, he told us the background behind the pottery making which was really interesting. We then had the opportunity to have a go at pottery ourself which was amazing. Our master was a 17 year old with 9 years experiences which I found fascinating. Alper then showed us around the items they had produced which were gorgeous and we even ended up buying a couple of souvenirs to take home. We felt very welcomed and Alper was very attentive. Would definitely recommend!”

“The driver, Mehmet, was very nice. He is easy to talk to, and you can tell right away that he is a good person because of his kind and gentle aura. I initially thought this tour would be with a group of people, but I was surprised to find out it was actually a private tour, just for me. I booked the time for 5 PM, and everything went great!”

Try Cappadocia pottery in Avanos for $9, learn local ceramic techniques, enjoy tea, and visit a working gallery in a one-hour class.

“This was a great experience. I’ve done a pottery workshop and didn’t enjoy it in the past, but the experience here was totally different. Loved it. Major downside I didn’t foresee, you don’t get to take your work with you because it takes rather long to dry, their method uses ambient temperature drying and they don’t go the firing route. The pottery class part do it only covered maybe 25% of our time at this venue. The rest of the time was spent in their ceramics gallery. Quite beautiful. Lovely experience. Place was easy to find on maps.”
